STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
STEMschool's mission is to provide free STEM help to grades 7–12 students and teachers in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, United States.
We believe that improving STEM education can make school more interesting, reduce dropouts, stimulate interest in STEM, increase standardized test scores, and better prepare students for the future. Using inquiry-based learning now and then keeps students interested but still allows plenty of time to cover standardized test material.

An idea for the future
It would be nice if there was a facility that students from multiple school corporations could use for STEM help and projects. Schools don't allow other school corporation students to use their facilities. Having a centralized location for this would make it easiest to connect volunteers, tools, and materials with students. Students would have a place where they can collaborate with students from other school corporations. Projects being worked on would be able to be left setup so they don't have to rebuilt from scratch each time they're worked on. Some ideas from Dave Eggers that were used for 826 Valencia: The Writing Center would be used regarding how to provide quality help for students and a permanent funding source.
